The games within group A have finished and the first participants of the playoffs were selected. Endpoint and Budapest Five are the first to go down the ladder.
The first slots in the group stage have been officially won. Endpoint – a European group and Russian forZe turned out to be the best teams in group A; by eliminating the Budapest Five and Illuminar Gaming.
The first day of the group struggle pleased Endpoint fans. The European mix of players started their adventure in the first season of EDC with an easy win at the Budapest Five. Then in the promotion match they faced forZe and this time the game was much more even. The brilliant performance of just 17-year-old Shahar “flameZ” Shushan made Endpoint win.
The second day brought quite a surprise. Illuminar Gaming lost to the Budapest Five in the qualifying match, despite the fact that the Poles were considered the absolute favorites of this match. Although the Hungarian squad currently ranks over 50 places lower in the HLTV ranking, they managed to surprise their opponents and stay in the competition.
The sweet victory over Illuminar gave Hungary wings. Budapest Five defeated another team, theoretically much stronger than themselves. ForZe was selected by the experts as one of the candidates for the first season of the EDC, but their adventure with the tournament was prematurely ended. After a very fierce match, the Russians recognized B5’s superiority.
Tomorrow, 9/12/20 at 10:00, the competition in group B will begin, in which we will see HellRaisers, SKADE, Heretics and Galaxy Racer.
