Second and last open qualifiers are over, which means we know the 2 winning teams that will participate in the Wildcard tournament and have a chance to attend the Main Championship.
First qualifier started on January 9th and was won by the team GROND, which had to defeat every single team that they faced to get to the grand final. After a 2:0 victory over UNITY Esports they secured their spot in EDC Wildcard Season 2, where they will fight for their slot in the Main Championship’s group stage.
Second opportunity to get to the Wildcard tournament was on 16-17th January. Team tikitakan showed no mercy to their opponents and got through the qualifier, finishing it with a 2:0 victory over LYNGBY VIKINGS. They joined GROND on the list of the Wildcard participants, and with 15 other teams they will fight for the opportunity to get to the main event group stage.
The EDC Wildcard will take place between the 21st and 24th of January, and a complete list of participants will be announced soon.
