First of the EDC S5 groups is now officially over. Lyngby Vikings, which had to forfeit their first game won both elimination and decider BO3 series today and proceeded to the playoffs. Young Ninjas and M1 Eden are now eliminated from the competition.
Lyngby Vikings is an esports team founded by football club Lyngby Boldklub. They started their activity in 2018 but the majority of their roster joined the team earlier this year. Only Thomas “birdfromsky” Due Frederiksen has been playing there since 2018. They are currently placed at the 56th position in the HLTV ranking and as an organization have appeared in the European Development Championship during second season. Back then, they did not make it out of groups, but this time the have already secured the playoff spot.
In the elimination match, they faced M1 Eden and won in a very convincing way (16:9 and 16:6). Thanks to this win, they fought Young Ninjas in the decider and proved that they belong in the playoffs. Group B starts tomorrow at 12:00 CEST. Unfortunately, team x-kom AGO had to step down from the tournament and is replaced by HONORIS. Their first match kicks off tomorrow at 13:00 CEST as they are going to face bankaPepsi.
