The Wildcard tournament is now over, which means we know the first 2 teams that will play in the main event. Sinners and ex-ETHEREAL turned out to be the best out of all 16 participants, and passed through every single team that they faced.
Team representing Czech Republic eliminated MBAPPEEK, Lyngby Vikings on their way and Lilmix in the final game. They looked really strong in those matches and dominated their opponents losing only 1 map in the entire Wildcard tournament. Now they have to prove that they can compete and win in the main phase and show us how far they can go.
Ex-ETHEREAL played incredibly well and did not lose a single map in the last three matches. They faced BEE, Nexus and Tricked and moved to the main event with ease. Although the last map versus Tricked was pretty close and they were forced to play overtime, they managed to pick up a 19:16 victory and keep their score without any losses.
Sinners and ex-ETHEREAL are the first participants of the second season of the European Development Championship. The full list of participants will be announced soon.
