The wildcard tournament is now officially over, which means we know the 2 teams that got their spot in the European Development Championship main tournament. Bulgarian team SKADE and french Double Poney came out on top of the bracket and will now compete in the main event with a 30.000$ prize pool.
Team representing Bulgaria had to defeat Infinite Gaming, 1win and ALTERNATE aTTaX on their way in the qualifiers. In their final game, despite losing the first map, they managed to pick up a victory by winning the second map with a 16-0 result and then 16:10 on the third one. In the last season of the EDC Main event, they did not manage to get out of groups and this time they will try to improve their result. It is going to be their third appearance in the EDC main tournament.
Second spot in the European Development Championship was taken by Double Poney. It is a team with very experienced Alexandre “bodyy“ Pianaro and Nathan “NBK” Schmitt on board, which has not been playing in this roster for a long time, but seems to be a great team with very good results in their first matches. In the Wildcard tournament, they won a bo3 series against BEE, BLINK and NAVI Junior in the final match, losing only 1 map in the entire qualifiers.
The European Development Championship main event will kick off with the group stage on April 7, and the complete list of participants will be announced soon.
