Competition in group C is now officially over. Trident managed to win both elimination and decider matches and secured their spot in the playoffs.
Trident is a Russian organization founded at the very beginning of 2021. They are currently ranked as a 62th team according to the HLTV ranking, with 49th place at their peak. Their roster consist of 2 veteran players of the CS:GO scene – Denis ‘seized’ Kostin and Ladislav ‘GuardiaN’ Kovács who has played as a sub in the EDC. Both of them are ex Natus Vincere players which makes them incredibly experienced.
Their journey in the European Development Championship season 4 started with defeat against Copenhagen Flames. Because of that, they had to face SKADE in the elimination match and then Budapest Five in the decider. First of those matches might be called an incredible comeback, since Bulgarians won the first map with a 16-1 result. Next 2 maps were pretty convincingly won by Trident and their star player – Ladislav ‘GuardiaN’ Kovács got the MVP title for the game. In the decider match, they picked up a 2-0 victory over Budapest Five and will now take part in the playoff stage.
Playoff stage starts on June 24th and the grand final is scheduled for June 27th. Group D matches kick off on June 18th.
