First day of group C has just ended. Danish team Copenhagen Flames won both of their matches and will now compete in the playoff stage.
Copenhagen Flames is a team with pretty new roster. Three of their players officially joined the team in May 2021 and they are already looking incredibly strong as a team. Just after those changes, they’ve managed to win the Blast Rising 2021, defeating such teams as LDLC or Spirit Academy. With this lineup, they are currently at their peak when it comes to the HLTV ranking – 41st place. Despite the fact that Denmark is incredibly strong and has very high ranked teams representing it, Copenhagen Flames are the 3rd team in their country with only Heroic and Astralis above them.
On their way to the EDC playoffs, the faced Trident in the opening match and then Budapest Five in the group final. First game ended up with a pretty convincing win over the Russian team, despite the fact that they had Ladislav ‘GuardiaN‘ Kovács and Denis ‘seized’ Kostin on board. The final kicked off for them with 17-19 defeat on Mirage, but they came back and won next 2 maps, both with a 16-9 result. MVP titles for the games went to Rasmus ‘Zyphon’ Nordfoss and Nico ‘nicoodoz’ Tamjidi. Rest of the teams from group C will fight again on June 17th, and the playoff stage starts on June 24th.
