Both of the semifinals were played today, which means we know the 2 teams that will face each other in the European Development Championship Season 5 grand final. Season 1 champions – K23 will meet Season 3 champion – SKADE to decide who is getting back on the throne.
In the first semifinal today, K23 faced Russian roster from 1win. Despite losing the first map, they managed to came back to the game and secured a victory on Overpass and Mirage in a pretty convincing way. They are currently placed at the 25 place in the HLTV ranking which is their peak and have incredibly experienced players such as Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev and Rustem “mou” Telepov on board. These 2 players are the PGL Major Kraków 2017 winners since they have been representing Gambit Esports at that time.
Second game was a match between Bulgarian team SKADE and Lyngby Vikings representing Denmark. Once again, the winning team lost the first map just to come back and secure the second and the third one as well. Georgi ‘SHiPZ’ Grigorov took the MVP title for the game home with him as he showed us some incredible individual plays. Both of the teams have won EDC tournament previously which makes the grand final even more interesting.
Last match of this season will kick off on September 5th at 15:00 CEST. The winner is going to get 17.500$ as a prize and an opportunity to go to a bootcamp at Malta.
